How will I know if I have a foundation problem?

There are many signs of foundation issues that include cracks in the drywall, or even doors or windows that won’t close properly. Cracks can appear on the exterior walls of your home as well. To be 100% sure of the condition of your foundation, the best course of action is to schedule an inspection of your home to determine if the foundation is shifting.

How long does an inspection take?

Our inspectors take 1 – 1 1/2 hours to do a complete evaluation of your property. The process includes taking measurements, drawing up a diagram of your home, and recording any foundation shifts on the diagram. Once we’ve completed an inspection, we will go over our findings and discuss the services required if it’s determine that your home will need repairs.

Do I need to be home during the inspection?

Yes. We will need access inside your and and the full exterior of your home to complete the inspection.

How does an inspection determine whether my home needs repairs?

We use equipment that takes careful measurements of your home that will indicate even the slightest amount of foundation shifting. If we find that your foundation has shifted significantly, we will recommend pier installation to make sure your home is level and prevent further shifting.

Is there a certain time of year I should have these repairs made?

Foundations repairs can be made year round. If inclement weather conditions occur during our scheduled time to make repairs, they may be postponed for the safety of our employees.

How long does it take to make repairs?

We complete most repairs in one to two days. If extensive repairs are required, we may take some extra time to ensure the work is completed properly.

Does foundation leveling close the cracks in drywall and brick?

It is possible for some cracks to close once the house is level again. You may see some new cracks appear as we lift your home. It’s recommended that you make any needed repairs to cracks 30 to 45 days after the foundation is repaired to allow your home to settle into it’s level position.

Will repairs damage my landscaping or plumbing?

We do our best not to disturb the landscape around your home while making repairs. If plants have to be uprooted we do all we can to make sure it survives after replanting but we cannot make any guarantees.

Plumbing around the foundation of your home may already be damaged due to the foundation shifting. It’s possible for stress to be applied on the plumbing while your home is being lifted too. We recommend that you have your plumbing inspected after foundation repairs are made to ensure the plumbing is fully intact.
